The TOTOLINK A8000RU runs OpenWrt 24.10.5 on the mediatek/mt7622 target, and has been supported since 22.03.1. Its WiFi 5 (AC) wireless on the mt76 driver rates excellent for open-source driver support (0.85/1.0), installation is rated moderate, and it is still sold new.

Installing OpenWrt on the A8000RU
Installation on this device is rated moderate. Expect to use a recovery mode, TFTP or a vendor tool rather than a plain web upload. Documented methods: see git-commit.
